Travelling to Costa Blanca - How to Get There?

Costa Blanca, the white coast, is one of the major tourist destinations in the Mediterranean has some of the best beaches of Spain’s Mediterranean coasts. It attracts holidaymakers with its 200 km. of beautiful white sandy coastline. Alicante is the major and capital city of Costa Blanca and the most popular holiday resort together with famous Benidorm. Costa Blanca hotels offer great accommodation and quality service for the Menorca holidaymakers.

Travelling to Costa Blanca by Air
El Altet Airport is the main airport in Costa Blanca and located about 12 km. on the south of Alicante. Travelers may find variety of flights to Costa Blanca including scheduled and charter flights from all leading Spanish and European cities. The busiest domestic flights to Costa Blanca are from Madrid, Barcelona, Majorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Seville, Malaga and Bilbao. European flights are mostly from the popular destinations such as London, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

Travelling to Costa Blanca by Road
Madrid-Albacete-Alicante motorway is the principal route to Alicante from points in the country’s interior. From the north, the easiest way is via Valencia along the Mediterranean Highway (AP-7) that links the region with the heart of Europe and is a favorite route with Benidorm-bound coach services. Best access from the Province of Murcia to the south is via the N-340. In addition; there is a fourth major road, the N-332 motorway, which takes in towns and villages lying along the coast.

 
 
 

Travelling to Costa Blanca by Sea
The Port of Alicante berths a great number of Mediterranean cruise liners, a regular ferry service plies between Denia and the Balearic Islands. There are numerous marinas and yacht basins act as a port of call for tourists sailing aboard their own craft.

Travelling to Costa Blanca by Rail
There are trains from the Renfe station in Alicante that is connect up with points around Spain and the rest of Europe. There is also a daily scheduled rail service to Madrid and Barcelona. Many other towns and cities within the province are also contected by rail such as Elche, Villena and Orihuela. Tourists are recommended to take the Limón Exprés (Lemon Express), while for the young travelers may use the Trensnochador which is a popular way of going discothèque-hopping without running the risk of a traffic accident.
