How to Get There? ~ Arrival to Costa del Sol

 
 

Costa del Sol is the region situated on the south of Spain, in the community of Andalusia.

By Air
The international airport is Costa del Sol is the
Málaga-Pablo Ruiz Picasso International Airport and it is 8km from Málaga City and 5km from Torremolinos. There are a lot of direct flights from many Spanish, European, Northern African and US cities to Costa del Sol via variety of major airlines. There is a free shuttle bus connecting Terminals 1-2 with Car Parks 1, 2, 3 in every 20 minutes. There are public transport to the airport from the capital city of the Costa del Sol and other important locations. Buses operate from Málaga and Marbella to the airport. EMT’s (Empresa Malagueña de Transportes) line 19 (www.emtmalaga.es) connects the airport to the city centre and run in every 20 to 45 minutes.

There is a Commuter train C1 (Cercanías RENFE, www.renfe.es) runs between Málaga and Fuengirola and stopping opposite Airport Terminal 2. To reach the airport from Málaga by train takes about 15 mins.

There are also two taxi ranks (Unitaxi (+34 952 333 333) and Radiotaxi (+34 952 040 804)) at the airport to take from.

By Sea
The Port of Málaga operates ferries (passengers and goods) between the Iberian Peninsula and the Autonomous City in Africa.

Port of Málaga is the leading port for the most Mediterranean cruises.

There are eleven marinas on  Costa del Sol that include; Benalmádena, Estepona, Fuengirola, Marbella, Manilva, Málaga, and Vélez-Málaga.

By Rail
From the María Zambrano Station in Málaga;

The AVE high-speed Train and other rail lines operates between towns and cities of Andalusia, the north of Spain and the Mediterranean coastal area.

- The Arco García Lorca Train operates between Espeluy, Andújar, Córdoba Central, Montilla, Puente Genil, and Bobadilla.

- The Trenhotel Gibralfaro Train operates between Barcelona-Sants, Camp de Tarragona, Zaragoza-Delicias, Córdoba-Central, Puente Genil-Herrera and  Antequera-Santa Ana.

By Road
The highway connection to Costa del Sol is the A-4 (Andalusian Highway) or A-7 (Mediterranean Highway).
