Costa del Sol is the region situated on the south of Spain, in the community of Andalusia, and it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Spain with its 150 miles of coastline. Costa del Sol means "Sun Coast" or "Coast of the Sun".

The most popular resorts are situated on the west of the capital city Malaga, such as Torremolinos, Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona, Mijas Costa, Benalmadena and Fuengirola.

Weather
Costa del Sol has a wonderful weather with mild winters and hot summers. It has about 330 days of sunshine a year. It provides a nice holiday relaxation in Spring and Autumn too. Even in the coldest month in January, the daytime temperature doesn't drop below to 16°C. During summer, sun shines about 11 hours a day and the region is cooled by the breeze blow from the sea. The average temperature of July and August is 30°C and doesn't drop below 22°C even in the nights.

Transportation
The international airport in Costa del Sol is Málaga-Pablo Ruiz Picasso International Airport and it is 8km from Málaga City and 5km from Torremolinos. There are public transport to the airport from the capital city of the Costa del Sol and other important locations.

Transportation through the region can be made via public busses, taxis, rail, seaways, vehicle/car hire and rentals. Car hire in Costa del Sol is popular. There are numerous car rental companies to chose from safely.

There are commuter rail lines operate from Málaga to Fuengirola or Álora. These are fast and comfortable rail services. Travelling by coach is also availabe. Travelers may purchase tickets to the farthest corners in the province from the Málaga City coach station.

The Port of Málaga operates ferries (passengers and goods) between the Iberian Peninsula and the Autonomous City in Africa. There are eleven marinas on  Costa del Sol that include; Benalmádena, Estepona, Fuengirola, Marbella, Manilva, Málaga, and Vélez-Málaga.
