Garajonay National Park
is located in
La Gomera island of the
Canary
Islands on the Atlantic Ocean.
With its evergreen dunk laural forests and its Garajonay National Park, the
island is being doubt as the magic island. Here lies the most ancient and best
preserved forest in Europe, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The Garajonay National Park is a wonderful environment for all nature
lovers. It watches over the island of La Gomera from above. Within its bounds
grow the islands’ finest specimens of laurisilva, a humid forest of laurel and
similar plants and bushes left over from the Tertiary and now practically
nonexistent in the rest of the world.
An environment full of mysticism with majestic clouds streaming continuously
across the treetops. There are glorious views of
Tenerife,
La Palma and El Hiero.
This botanical gem is heightened by giant heather and a wide selection of
endemic plants sprouting from the sheer rock faces found in this designated
area. |
