About Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura is the second largest and the longest of the Canary Islands that stands 60 miles (about 100 km.) from the coast of North Africa and situated just on the south of Lanzarote. Fuerteventura has the best beaches, natural beauty and water sports activities in the Canaries whilst the dramatic volcanic scenery is dotted with little white villages, windmills, coasts and palm trees.

Fuerteventura is a popular island for all kind of water sports with its modern tourist facilities at Corralejo, Caleta de Fuste, Costa Calma, Morro Jable and La Pared and the up-to-the-minute nautical sports centers at El Castillo, Corralejo, Gran Tarajal and Morro Jable. Every July and August, the World Windsurf Championship is held on the Sotavento beaches.

 

Kilometers of golden & white sandy beaches and the wind taking the golden sand from Sahara, prepares the wonderful windsurfing environment at famous Playa de Sotavento in Corralejo.

Fuerteventura, originally split into two tribal kingdoms, was always a good target for the invaders and pirates for all ages.

Fuerteventura has a warm and dry climate during the year. Puerto di Rosario is the capital and about 50,000 people live in the island.

Along with the history, the most beautiful part of
Fuerteventura is it’s amazing beaches. Beaches of Fuerteventura is really famous and worth seeing. Corralejo Main beach, South of El Cotillo, Caleta de Fustes and Jandia Peninsula are the beaches of Fuerteventura. The Jandia Peninsula on the south of the island offers great beaches on Costa Calma and Morro Jable.

There are three main places for
nightlife in Fuerteventura... Corralejo, Caleta de Fuste and Morro Jable... Corralejo is the mainland of the nightlife in Fuerteventura with lots of clubs, night parties, pubs, discos, bars etc. Caleta de Fuste and Morro Jable are reatively calm and cheaper than Corralejo.

 

Food & Drinks
There are plenty of restaurants and food styles in Fuerteventura. Corralejo is the best place for dining with its great restaurants. The restaurants are mostly cheaper than the other holiday destination in Canary Islands. Seafood is highly recommended. Taste swordfish, octopus and sea bass for sure. Fuerteventura is also famous with its goats' cheese. Calimocho is a local drink, mixture of red wine and coke. Dorada or Tropical are the popular local beers.

Shopping
There are not so big shopping places in
Fuerteventura. The only shopping center to be considered as big in Fuerteventura is Las Rotondas. There are small supermarkets, bazaars, and other shops that you can buy your needs on your Fuerteventura holidays.
