San Antonio, also known as Sant Antoni de Portmany, is located on the center west coast of Ibiza. It is the second largest town of the island by means of population and chief leisure entertainment center and hosting a wide natural port. The town is also a busy ferry port in Ibiza. This former fishing town has now become a popular holiday resort. San Antonio is famous with its fields of almond trees and sunsets.

San Antonio is also known as the West End and there are numerous neon flashing bars, lounges, strip clubs, fast food cafes & restaurants and cheap alcohol. San Antonio in Ibiza offers cheap accommodation and San Antonio hotels are mostly preferred by the young holidaymakers, groups of single lads and girls.
 
Es Paradis and Eden are the two famous big nightclubs in San Antonio together with numerous clubbing related bars & lounges such as Cafe Mambo, Cafe Del Mar, Bar M, 2Nice Bar, Savannah Beach Club and the live rock venue Ibiza Rocks.

San Antonio is also famous with its famous Sunset Strip that where thousands of people from all nationalities gather together to watch and enjoy the sunset.

San Antonio Bay
San Antonio Bay is located on the south of San Antonio and offers great family and couples accommodation with few clubbing San Antonio hotels and apartments. San Anotnio Bay offers calm nights and family related entertainment so the clubbers prefer to go to the San Antonio town for a lively nightlife. The town and the bay are located on a 20 min. walking distance. There are various beautiful beaches in San Antonio Bay such as Cala Basa, Cala Conte, Cala Tarida and Cala Gracio that worth a visit for beachgoers.

San Antonio North
San Antonio North is a calm and quiet region of San Antonio. There are also nice selection of San Antonio hotels and apartments together with beautiful relaxing and quiet beaches such as Cala Gracio, Grasionetta, Cala Salada and Punta Galera rocks. San Antonio North is also popular for its amazing sunsets along its beautiful promenade that stretches all along the way into the town and San Antonio Bay. The region is mostlt preferred by couples and families.

 
 

Top Attractions, Sites of Interest & Things to Do in San Antonio

  • Bay of San Antoio - San Antonio bay is very impressive located next to the urban centre. The zone in the bay is full of shops, restaurants and variety of tourist services such boats connecting the other regions of the island, nautical club, fishing dock and the yachting marina.

  • Enjoying the sunset at the coast of Ses Variades - Thousands of visitors meet at the coast and enjoy the sunset in the company of music. The bars of the area offer accompaniment to the sunsets of the town with live music and DJs.

  • Journey to the interior San Antonio - A trip to see the Santa Agnes de Corona village and its church together with passing through tha paths in almond blossom (during Jan-Feb) is another must take attraction for San Antonio visitors. Continuing the trip to the Sant Mateu d'Aubarca to experience the wine cellars and then visiting Ses Torres d'en Lluc which is an archeological site dating back to the Middle ages and seeing the 2 ancient towers and wall would be fascinating. And if you continue to the east and reach Cala d'Aubarca, there you may experience the steep coastline of great beauty that is providing a shelter for many kind of birds such as Eleanor's falcon and the royal falcon.

  • A visit to Pla de Corona Valley - The Pla de Corona valley with almond trees and the small village of Santa Agnes is worth a visit.

  • A visit to the Potters' Studios in Sant Rafael de Sa Creu - The region is declared as the "zone of craftwork interest" that is situated 8 km. from San Antonio.

  • Enjoying the sun and sea on the wonderful beaches of San Antonio.

  • Churches - The churches of Sant Antoni, Sant Mateu, Sant Rafael, the underground chapel of Santa Agnes and the small chapel of Buscastell are worth a visit. San Antonio's 14th century parish Church takes the attention beyond the modern hotels. The Chapel of Santa Agnes is another Christian temple on the road to Cala Salada to the north of the town.

  • Cueva de Ses Fontanelles - The cave houses a collection of cave paintings dating back to bronze age worth a visit and see. The cave is located between Sa Foradada and Cap Nono and accessible via Cala Salada.

  • Aquarium Cap Blanc - The aquarium is situated 2 km. from central San Antonio, close to Cala Gracio. Visitors may see wide range of Pitiusan marine fauna at the aquarium.

In addition, The annual festivals in Sant Antoni include San Antonio Fiesta on the 17th of January and Sant Bartolome Fiesta on the 24th of August.

Beaches in and around San Antonio
There are quality beaches in San Antoni (Sant Antoni de Portmany), Ibiza. The ones on the west part of the town are very popular. They include Platja de s'Arenal, Platja des Pouet, Calo des Moro, Cala Llantia, Cala Llosar, Cala Codolar, Cala Roja, Cala Bassa, Cala Salada and Cala Graciˇ.
