Overview
Arrecife is the capital city and the island's
commercial and administrative town located on the
center east of
Lanzarote. Although its capital situation,
Arrecife keeps its landscape with its beautiful
walking paths with palm trees, the beach and two
small castle. The beach front hosts beautiful
promenade areas and gardens.

Sights and places of interest in Arrecife
include; the promenade, Charco de San Ginés, the
castle, Castillo de San Gabriel, the bridge, Puente
de las Bolas, and Casa de los Arroyo (a former
residence converted into a scientific and cultural
centre) and Centro Científico Cultural.
There is an archeology museum worth seeing located
on Castillo de San Gabriel accessible by a bridge
off the shore. El Almacén is the cultural center of
the island located in the José Betancourt street
worth visiting.
Arrecife is also Lanzarote's main port and
commercial centre. There are variety of shopping
centers and bazaars. Calle Léon y Castillo is the
most popular of them as being a famous pedestrian
shopping street.
Arrecife hosts fine sandy blue flagged urban beach
of Playa del Reducto. Great attraction for the
beachgoers and nice one of the
Lanzarote beaches. |
