The island
of
Lanzarote is located in the Atlantic Ocean and
offer variety of beaches, volcanic landscape and
attractions.
Lanzarote may be reached by sea and by air and is
one of the best- communicated in the archipelago.
The two main ports for the inter-island traffic
routes include; Playa Blanca to
Fuerteventura and Arrecife to
Gran Canaria and
Tenerife. At the Lanzarote airport, flights
arrive daily from leading European cities. In
addition, there are daily flights to the Canary
Islands’ capital cities and mostly to Madrid and
Barcelona.
By Air
There are numerous direct flights to Lanzarote from
many major cities the world. Flying to the other
Canary Islands and then getting to Lanzarote by
ferries is another option.
The national airline is the Iberian Airways.
International Airport in Lanzarote (Lanzarote
Airport - ACE) is situated 5 km. on the south of
Arrecife (Phone: 902 404 704 , 928 820 704;
www.aena.es).
Lanzarote airport has two terminals; Terminal 1
is for the international flights and Terminal 2 is
for the inter-island flights.
There are two bus routes connecting the airport to
Arrecife. A bus runs in every 30 minutes to
Arrecife.
Taxi to Arrecife costs approximately 12 Euros, to
Costa Teguise approximately 20 Euros and to Playa
Blanca approximately 40 Euros. As for car hire in
Lanzarote; there is an abundance of Lanzarote car
hire and car rental agencies. Many of those car hire
agencies have offices at the airport, offering cheap
car hire in Lanzarote and great cars at
relatively cheap rates. |
