Travelling to Spain with your Boat
In the Spain waters you need a sailing license to pilot a pleasure craft of more than 5 meters long for sailing boats and more than 4 meters long for motorized vessels in excess of 10 kilowatts.

For the ones sailing their own vessel
, on entering a port you should show your documentation which include; the ownership of the boat or vessel according to the country of registration and flag flown as well as the obligatory insurance that should cover a minimum of 150,000 Euros for third party damages.

Boats or vessels giving harm to maritime safety may be prohibited to moor, anchor or enter to the ports.

To rent a boat in Spain
, for the ones having a sailing license obtained outside of Spain, they must present a permit from the corresponding Maritime Authority to show that the functions conceded are the same as those authorized on the overseas license. Requests can be made through the boat hire companies.

Dynamic lift or high-speed vessels have special controls including the navigation plans, high speed vessel mark, visibility from the air and moor in specific destinations and locations.
