Tenerife, lying opposite the west coast of
Africa, is part of the Canarian archipelago,
Canary
Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Tenerife stands on a four hours
flight from the Northern Europe and just 300
kilometers from the African coast.
By Air
The most practical and easiest way to go Tenerife is
by air. There are numerous direct flights to
Tenerife from many major European and world cities
by the many budget airlines. Also there are cruises
and ferries from major ports in European cities.
Also there are regular flights between the Canary
Islands.
Tenerife has two airports which include; Tenerife
South Reina Sofia Airport (TFS) and Tenerife North
Airport (TFN).
Tenerife South (Sur) Airport (TFS, Phone : (+34) 91
321 10 00 ; 902 404 704) is the busiest one that all
flights arrive and depart to mainly international
European destinations. It is situated 60 km. to the
south of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Tenerife North (Norte) Airport (TFN, Phone : (+34)
91 321 10 00 ; 902 404 704 ; 922 635 999) is the
smaller one and most domestic flights from Spain
mainland are organized. It is situated 10 km. to the
west of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

By Sea
from Spain
Trasmediterránea ferries (www.trasmediterranea.es;
Phone: 902 454 645)travel weekly from Cádiz to
Tenerife via Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The port of
Tenerife is located at
Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
That regular ferries are once a week and approximate
voyage time is 39 hours. The arrival ports include,
Arrecife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran
Canaria and La Palma. |
