Tenerife Sightseeing & Points of Interest

Tenerife has much to offer for the travelers. There are a lot of places to see in Tenerife. If you like plenty of sightseeing in Tenerife then you may climb to a different climate up to Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak and the stunning cliffs at Los Gigantes. Teide National Park trip is a must. You may experience the cosmopolitan atmosphere at the Tenerife's capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Also you may visit the archaeological digs at the Pyramid Park in Güimar.

As for the holiday towns and villages; Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital city located in the north.
Playa de las Américas is a luxurious holiday resort and one of the most popular holiday resorts in Tenerife located on the southern coast of Tenerife. It is considered as the new Las Vegas and neighbor to the other well known holiday town Los Cristianos which has eventually become a nice tourist town built to meet the holidaymakers' all needs.

 

Puerto de la Cruz, the historic town is a great holiday resort and well known especially by the British holidaymakers. Orotava is the pretty village offering the best views of the island with its colony houses and big balconies. San Cristobal de la Laguna is the world heritage of the island and the second important city of Tenerife. A visit to San Cristobal de la Laguna is a must on your Tenerife holidays. And Masca is the most picturesque part of the island.

As for theme parks and aqua parks Tenerife; Jungle Park in Las Águilas, Arona is the only jungle in Europe and the best botanical and zoological park in the Canary Islands. A must and one of the best things to do in Tenerife. Also visit new water kingdom theme park named Siam Park. A visit to Loro Parque with the biggest parrot collection of more than 300 species is also a must.

As for the museums; Casa Ossuna Museum, the Friends of the Country Economic Society Museum, the Concepción Church's Museum and the Cathedral's Museum in La Laguna are the culture attractions.

Tenerife Beaches are really amazing, clean, good looking and peaceful. There are 8 Blue Flag beaches in Tenerife. Golden sandy beaches and wonderful shorelines are best in the south of the island ranging from the busy beach of Playa de las Américas, charming Los Cristianos to peaceful Las Galletas. There are also lots of nudist beaches in Tenerife.
