The Oceanogrāfic (L'Oceanogrāfic) in Valencia


Oceanografic is the biggest aquarium in Europe containing thousands of species of underwater flora and fauna, including sharks and dolphins in Valencia. It is located within a 110.000 square meters of surface and a volume of 42 million liters of water in the City of Arts and Sciences. The Oceanogrāfic is a must see attraction especially for the kids and one of the best things to do in Valencia.

What to See
You are able to experience the marine life at the biggest aquarium in Europe. Seeing and sleeping with sharks swimming just very close to you from the protective glass panels, dolphins,
sea lions, penguins, beluga whales, walruses and many other species of the mammals worth seeing. Arctic, Antarctic, Mediterranean, Oceans, Dolphinarium, Temperate and Tropical, Islands and Wetlands are the parts at the Oceanogrāfic. There are guided tours for the visitors.

For the ones who want to have a rest and taste sea food, there is an underwater restaurant at the Oceanogrāfic.

Animalia Passport (getting to know the dolphins and the sea lions); Sleep with the Sharks (sleeping within an area surrounded with sharks, an after supper activity especially for the kids); Oceanográfico Cources (getting to know sharks, turtles, sea mammals, and marine biology); Trainer for a Day (getting to have a chance to learn how to train the mammals); Oceanogrāfic's Technical Gallery (a visit to the veterinary clinic and technical gallery) and Penguin Encounter (a visit to the bird hatchery and rearing area) are the popular attractions and activities at the Oceanogrāfic in Valencia.



Advices for the Visitors
To catch the most shows, arriving the Oceanogrāfic early is recommended. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult responsible. Bringing swim suits or torso, food and using flash is not allowed. Oceanogrāfic is also one of the best places to see in Valencia.
